A glorious view for a much needed break!

I got a lot done last week. I did. Because I got a lot done, I was able to see how much more I needed to do.

I also got sick, and had a slow recovery. My husband then got sick. Our toddler decided he wasn’t going to sleep at night all week. This created a bit of a challenge, and yet, somehow, I got over 75% of my plan completed last week. Even though everything didn’t go quite how I expected, I still felt like it was a win considering the circumstances.

This week is another big week because four submission deadlines are January 15 (which incidentally is also the last day for subscribers to get a hold of THRIVE and TRANSFORM TO THRIVE). In addition to this, I’m working on getting the SIX DEGREES books complete.

And then there’s the little thing that my husband and I got as a gift. For Christmas we were given a night at a lovely inn in the Santa Ynez Valley, along with wine, and a little tasting tour. It will be the first time we’ve had a night away as a couple since our babymoon when I was 16 weeks pregnant.

That was a while ago.

This is much needed. Which is why this is a scheduled post. As you’re reading this, hopefully I’m still in bed. Or eating a delicious breakfast at the inn. Or maybe I’m tasting a pinot or syrah. I don’t know – but whatever I’m doing, it is restful, renewing, and much needed. After this glorious break, I’ll be back at the grindstone, working at breakneck pace through the SIX DEGREES launch.

While I have a lot going on, I’m so excited about it all! It’s a marvelous start to the year and I know it’s only going to get better.

This week I’m working on the following:

  • tightening up 2 essay submissions

  • finalizing a chapbook submission

  • finalizing chapter 3 of STAKES

  • finalizing my reviewers for STAKES (reviews for free chapters the entire life of the serial!)

  • adjusting/finalizing formatting etc of curriculum

  • reworking/tweaking devotional

  • blogging

I think that’s enough for now (though I have a few immediate options if I finish all that).

I’ll let you know how it goes…right after I finish wine tasting.

With Indie love,

P.S. If you’re interested in reviewing chapters of STAKES in exchange for free chapters every month, please contact me at alexisdonkin.author@gmail.com! I’d love to have you in the group. Just click here to send me a note!
